nichols // wedding

I can not even begin to describe my excitement to finally share this blog for Alec & Megan's gorgeous Arizona wedding. Their day was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Set in a family friend's exquisite home in Scottsdale, Arizona, this wedding was all about the details and the color! Megan is a long-time friend of my cousin (who was her maid of honor), so I have grown up knowing her forever! Megan modeled for me a few years ago, and we captured some amazing portraits that she loved! Because of that, Megan and Alec gave me full creative freedom...which was so fun! I tried some new things and had such a wonderful time capturing their beautiful, unique style in these timeless memories. And y'all: I had THE hardest time narrowing these down, so this may be a longer blog post than usual. Sorry, not sorry.

I really hope you enjoy just a little peek at how incredible this day was. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Alec Nichols! Y'all had such a beautiful, Christ-honoring day and it was truly a joy to be a part of.

Love y'all.

After the beautiful moments getting ready with her girls, Megan made her way to the first look! We decided that the desert setting would be spectacular for this event. These two were so excited to see one another! Alec even gave Megan a very special gift- a notebook he has been writing to his future wife for years! Bring on the tears!

PS: Isn't Megan's flower crown EVERYTHING!!!??

After pictures, it was now time for the ceremony. It was such a beautiful, Christ-centered, special ceremony. Alec and Megan's friends lead worship to start it off, and it was such a powerful moment. Side note- the aisle...was over a POOL! How amazing is that?!

Before the grand entrance to their big party, we were able to get a few AMAZING sunset portraits of the bride and groom. These may be some of my favorite wedding portraits yet...these two were SO in love and the light, the setting, the timing (right after they were official!) was just magical. I mean c'mon y'all. <3

Food trucks at a wedding? Heck yes!  "Short Leash Hot Dogs" and "Rollover Doughnuts" food trucks have arrived! These gourmet hot dogs and doughnuts were out of this world! Such a fun idea...the guests loved it!

After some touching speeches from the best man and maid of honor, it was time to get the party started! Alec and Megan had their first dance to start off the dancing, followed by the father/daughter and mother/son dances. Alec and his mom had the coolest choreographed dance and totally surprised the guests! After that, Megan and her mom shared a dance too!

The reception was such a fun party! As you can tell from these photos, no one had a good time at all ;) I had to hop on a plane and fly back to Texas and the party was still going strong!  Everyone danced the night away celebrating the new Mr. & Mrs! Congratulations you lovebirds!

Set at the romantic Windsor at Hebron Park, Corey & Rachel's wedding day was full of excitement, happy tears, family, friends, and of course so much love.
Enjoy a little peek at some of the highlights of their special day-
Congratulations Corey & Rachel!

The two exchanged letters and gifts. Of course, it was beautiful and emotional as the two both put so much thought and heart into their gifts.

....so many happy tears!

So much excitement!

Such a special moment when Rachel put her stunning gown on! Of course, her mom and sister were there to help.

I will always love Daddy-daughter first looks....Dave's face says it all!

How many daughters does it take to put a boutonnière on? Such a sweet moment.

Rachel, you are an absolutely stunning bride!

Corey & Rachel's ceremony took place in the gorgeous chapel at the Windsor. They waited until the ceremony to see each other...so grab a tissue for when you see their first look!

The new Mr. & Mrs. Corey Guymon!

Corey is a football coach and Rachel LOVES football, so of course one had to show up somewhere in the evening!

The Guymon's wanted a big band for their reception. This band did incredible and really kept the party going!

Corey & Rachel's first dance was one for the books as they danced to Ed Sheeran's "Perfect". It really was perfect.

Before the dance floor opened up, of course there had to be the father/daughter and mother/son dances. So many sweet emotions!

Rachel's dad surprised everyone with a big band appearance on trumpet! He did amazing!

These two opted for brownie sundaes instead of the traditional cake- let's just say, it was an excellent choice! It was sure a sweet part of their reception.

For their exit, Corey and Rachel got an old white vintage car. Of course we had to get a few pictures with it. So romantic!

I will always recommend to my brides a "last dance". Just the bride and groom will dance while the guests go out to get ready for the exit. It is a really beautiful way to end the night and soak in those last few moments of your wedding day!

After a super fun balloon exit, these two lovebirds took off in the car as Mr. & Mrs. Corey Guymon! Congratulations, y'all! It was such a joy to be a part of your special day!

Also, big shoutout to my second shooter, Cortney Hostin! You are amazing!

I met Hannah back when I shot her best friend Emery's senior portraits...she was her "assistant". I was SO EXCITED when she contacted me to do her senior portraits! I absolutely loved how she put together all of her outfits and different looks. She had a "full senior session", and it shows if you plan right just how many fun looks you can get if we keep moving! These portraits are set in historic downtown Grapevine-- always the perfect backdrop! Congratulations, Miss Hannah!
